Hi there from a noobie
I have recently got into the world of ESSB and i'm hooked for sure.
I just have some noobie questions,please don't laugh !
Here goes-
I am running my Behringer B1 mic (which is being replaced soon for a none condensor type)
I run this into the Behringer VX2000 pre amp, then into-
Behringer FBQ 1502 EQ,then into
Behringer DSP 2024,then into the I BOX,then radio.
It's all sounding good although i'm not too keen on the mic so that will be changed.
I think i've done this correctly but i'm just wondering about xlr cables.
At the moment i'm running 1 xlr between each seperate unit going into input 1's and out of output 1's.
I see the EQ had 2 outputs, shall i run 2 xlr's from EQ to the virtualizer? Will it make any difference?
Also my next stage is to buy a Behringer Ultrafex EX 3200,where would I be putting this inline?
Is it the right choice or am I missing something else?
Would it be just before the I BOX?
I see the 3200's are disscontinued now, what is the current equivalent model incase I can't find a 3200 2nd hand?
All the best
WJ !

Howdy WJ,
Welcome to the Forum!!!!
So glad to have you here and hooked on ESSB!
BUT... You can 'Daisy Chain' the Channels and have twice the EQ power.
HOW?
This is how you would hook it up, Go into the Channel 1 Input, put a XLR cable between the Channel 1 Output and the Channel 2 Input, Then come out of the Channel 2 Output to the next rack piece.
Now you have 2 EQ's for the price of one.
Normally the last thing you want in line is the Virtualaizer or any other reverb type of device that adds an 'Effects Tail'.
You have so much more control with a parametric then with a graphic.
Hope that helps ya out!
Take Care,

This is the correct way to connect them.At the moment i'm running 1 xlr between each seperate unit going into input 1's and out of output 1's.
The reason it has 2 inputs and 2 outputs is because it is a STEREO Unit. It has one Channel for the LEFT side, and another Channel for the RIGHT side. You are running in MONO so only one side is needed....I see the EQ had 2 outputs, shall i run 2 xlr's from EQ to the virtualizer? Will it make any difference?

We would put it after the EQ.Also my next stage is to buy a Behringer Ultrafex EX 3200,where would I be putting this inline? Would it be just before the I BOX?

No, the model Behringer replaced it with doesn't have the Surround Processor which is a vital component that makes the EX3200 do what it does. There is no other model that will do what the EX3200 will do.I see the 3200's are disscontinued now, what is the current equivalent model incase I can't find a 3200 2nd hand?
Well, maybe trying to upgrade the EQ to a parametric would be the first thing to do. The models to look at would be the DEQ2496 or the DSP1124.Is it the right choice or am I missing something else?
You have so much more control with a parametric then with a graphic.

Howdy,
The Virtualizer is fine with just one channel as you really dont need that much plating. Here are some settings.

Here is a link to our page that tells the best way to hook up the EX3200.

Have Fun!!

Howdy,
Sure you can use that one as it is a Balanced Cable.
Take care,
Yes, you need an UN balanced mono cable to tye the 2 channels together. So for the 3200 I need a double ended mono 1/4" to go from ch1-ch2,
Yes that is correct.then go back to the standard xlr cable to the virtualizer?
Or could I use this-
