But....

Yea, your right Ozman...
information is power....but

What you really can't find allot of information on, is the actual "Sound" that comes from "rolling" tubes.
They give all the TechnoBabel on the tubes, specs...gain...color....and all that jazz, but most of the time they won't give you any Sonic Characteristics.....what the different tubes sound like in the same application.

We guess because everyones equipment, hearing ,and sonic tastes are so different, no-one wants to commit.
So truly the only way to actually "know" how a different tube will "sound" in your application, is to ultimately roll it and listin.
Out of the limited information that we have found on the internet about this subject, there has only been a few sites (and we mean two) that were even close to being in tune with my ear.

All Hail with Voodooooooooo!!!

Can We hear an Amen?!

Yea, We found the same one Oz.
The main reason we spent 180 bucks (and that was a HELL of a deal!) on the matched pair of Sylvania 5751 Black Plate Government Gold Label Tubes (with the silver pins...not gold) was the information from that article.
Those tubes were great for music...but for Audio the Commands kicked there ass in the Low End Harmonix department.
The Sylvanias had a haunting resonance in the upper mids and highs that we have never heard from any other tube....and sooooooo smooooooooth....but they just didn't have it in the Low End Harmonix Department.
We played with them in my Tube EQ for awhile to play with adding High End Resonance...just took them out in fact a few months ago and replaced them with the Commands.

Commands are still a little to rich for my blood [at the moment] but it's good to know they're are available and still in huge demand worldwide, which is an added incentive to acquiring them for this application for improving the VooDoo Sound further..... 8)
