Howdy Elan,
This information can be found in the SDX Service Manual.
Look on Page 255 Zone A2 for the CN12 connector that attaches to the J3 8-Pin DIN Plug for the Scope, this is on the Carrier Unit.
Now turn to Page 214 which lists the Terminal Functions of the connectors. Look under the Carrier Unit heading for CN12. This will list the Terminal numbers and their Terminal Function.
Now you must interpolate which pins on the J3 connector go to the CN12 Connector.
This is what we came up with....
SM230-------------------------------------- TS-950SDX
1--GND------------------------------------- 1 -- Analog GND
2--MARKER ON/OFF----------------------- 2 -- Sub Marker Control
3SCAN WIDTH INORMATION------------ 3 -- Span Switch Info
4--N.C------------------------------------- 4 -- N/C
5--SCAN WIDTH INFORMATION--------- 5 -- Span Switch Info
6---N.C------------------------------------ 6 -- N/C
7--MARKER POSITION VOLTAGE-------- 7 -- Sub Marker Signal
8--GND------------------------------------ 8 -- Digital GND
So Basically it is a direct Pin for Pin connection.
All you should need is a 8-Pin Jumper cable.
Good Luck!

Re: help please connection ts 950sdx with sm-230 scope 8 pin din
Hi guys!
I need this Din 8 pin conector. It is completely different . I did not find anyone here in BrasiL that fix in scope terminal in my TS-950SDX and SM-230. I found only 8 pin Din 270 and 262 grades.
Any help?

Re: help please connection ts 950sdx with sm-230 scope 8 pin din
We no longer have an SM230 or the cables to look at or compare, but looking at the 8 Pin Scope Jack on the back of the SDX, it looks like the horseshoe type which is the 262.
IIRC, there are only two versions of 8 Pin DIN, the 270 and 262.
They are cheap enough on ebay to get one and try?
Good Luck!
