Howdy!!
Welcome to the Forum!
Glad to have you here.
Gentle???
NEVER! MooooHooooHaaaaHaaahahaha!!!!
Unfortunately, We're not at all familier with the IC7400 at all.
Maybe someone else on the Forum has played with one?
More then likely it is your rig which is not passing the lows.
Check in the Menu settings to see if there is a Low Cut in the TX section or something like that.
As we said earlier, we're not familiar with that rig.
Take Care!

Yes if you are going to play Audio, an EQ is essential.currently i have mdx2200,ex3200,sharkdsp110 and yamaha mg10/2 desk.i have a bassie voice but just cant get it out the rig, maybe an eq is needed?

Hey Barry,
Check in the Menu settings to see if there is a way to change the TX Carrier Offset of the filters.
This will shift the Bandpass of the Filters to the Low frequency side or the High frequency side.
You might have to look in the Service Manual to see if there is a Service Menu for this, or maybe an actual control inside the rig.
