Hello all at X-treme ESSB, Thanks for being able to join the group. I currently run a Mark V and am preparing to do a voodoo mod to tx+rx. I have a question about doing the BM pin 5 tap. does the output from the mic preamp stay "in circuit" or does it have to be opened from the modulator? I'm looking forward to working some (big sound radios) soon.I have been listening up and down the bands and there are some awesome sounding radios out there. My Mark V is due for a "fluff and a buff"
thanks to all Ray KB1UFO 73s

Howdy Ray,
Welcome to the forum!! Were glad to have you part of our crew.

Yes, the mic preamp input stays "in circuit" as it does NOT have to be opened form pin 5 of the Balanced Modulator.

Let us know how the progression of mods go for your Mark V!
Take Care,

Hello All, I have changed filters to 6.0kc and have found out after shutting off (edsp) I am getting 50hz-5.7kc audio with a Heil pr-40. looking forward to setting up rack gear. At this piont in time my Mark v is sounding awesome. Ray KB1UFO
