I am looking for information on how to get the best audio I can from my rig.I have not found any information yet,I am open for all the suggestions you guys have, currently I am using both of the w2ihy boxes with the heil pro set elite headset hc-6.Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Glad to have you here.
Unfortunately, we don't have ANY info for the FT-5000d.
We know of only one audiophile using this rig, Greg WB9DNZ and he is using a full outboard audio rack and running at 4kc. He sounds phenomenal!

Anyone else out there operating this fine rig?

Greetings.You may want to check this site:NA1A.us.Duke runs or at one time ran a 5000 and has some settings and how to set it up for 4K tx bw.Hope this helps.

Yo Guyz .....A friend (G0NED - Eric) and myself have experimented with his FTDX 5000MP and found that we have been getting 4khz audio out of it via the Behringer rack that is in use. The audio sounds great and we have set 2 settings one for DX and one for Ragchew. Rundonwn as follows:
Heil PR40 Microphone
Ultragain Pro Mic2200 Mic Preamp
Ultra-Curve Pro DEQ2496 EQ
Utrafex Pro - Voodoo Box
Autocom Pro-XL Compressor
Virtualizer Pro Effects Processor

We have just tried the 'switch on mod' for wider audio and noticed just by ear that there is more at the top end. Before this mod we where measuring 4khz so it will be interesting to see how much wider its reading now
