Just want to find out if the rear 13 pin DIN plug in the back of the TS-2000 can be wired as a balanced input - like the Icoms can.
I would rather send my outboard mic preamp and digital EQ into a Line Input than a Mic Input.
And if so; what is the pinout for this wiring?
I'm going to get the DIN connector today...

The Pinout is the same as on the TS-870 13 pin ACC2.
The diagram for the ACC2 is on pg 95 of the TS-2000 user manual.
The Audio input is pins 11 & 12.

Just remember you have to key this input with the ACC2 PTT pins 9 & 8 as it disconnects the front mic jack and connects the ACC2 audio input.

An update...
Bought a 13 pin DIN plug from eBay for ~$5 including shipping. Plug is very well made and took only two days after ordering to reach my doorstep. If bought at Ham Radio outlet, the same plug is $22 +tax! Save a little cash and buy one on eBay!

Although the mic inputs have there own grounds (you could call it Signal -),
those are all unbalanced connections.
Try using the pin 8 or the shell as the shield (XLR = Pin 1, TRS = Sleeve)
If you get RFI or hum, try lifting it at the rig.
Its really just wiring it for the best performance.

Skip was in and I got my first radio check from a FL station (I live in CA); they said it sounded xlnt! I am pleased. Just ran my mic preamp - and nothing else - to make sure everything was running OK before I hooked up 'The Rack'...

I thought I would addend with some more info on the 13 pin DIN plug.
You cannot directly solder the DIN plug that I bought - to the wires.
This situation created a huge obstacle in making this whole thingie work.
Sooooo.....
I bought some thin lugs that would slide onto these very thin pins that are on the DIN plug. I used some narrow shrink-wrap on each lug - after I placed a dab of solder from each wire to each lug. This also tightened up the fit of the 'lug to pin' clearance. It also assured that each lug wouldn't touch another pin - on that very close fit - between pins on the DIN plug itself.
The DIN plug assembled like clockwork after I did it this way.
