Hi. I'm definitely a newbie to the VooDoo thing here. I have some rack equipment and am looking for some guidance. My setup is as follows:
1. EV PL 80 mic into
2. Ultragain pro 2200 into
3. Rane MC15, channel 1 (eq) into
4. DBX 1066 (compressor/limiter/gate) channel 1 into
5. Rane MC 15 channel 2 into
6. DBX 1066 Channel 2 into
7. TS 440
My questions are these:
1. Is this configuration correct?
2. Is the first channel of the EQ used for cutting frequencies at this point and if so which?
3. When going into channel 1 of the DBX 1066 will this be used for soft knee compression?
4. Channel 2 of the Rane EQ will be used for final EQ?
5. Channel 2 of the DBX will be used for hard compression and limiting?
6. When does the gate come into play?
I know the 440 is probably not the best radio for this. I plan to do some cap mods on the front end and try running thru the mic amp, etc. but I also am going to try running it thru the ACC2 jack in the back. Unfortunately I don't know what cap mods need to be done from the ACC2 jack to add some lows and highs. Any info on this would also be appreciated.
Thanks for any info and/or guidance. This site ROCKS!
