TS 870 rear fed high band ALC pulse

Post by WA1ED »

Hi
I recently purchased a ts-870 and am feeding the audio from a Behringiner B-1 into a DBX ProVocal then into as DBX 231 EQ into the rear ACC2 Connector.

On 20 meters -10 meters it works great....

on 40 meters down I get an ALC pulse - The ALC maxes out whenever I speak no matter how low the drive.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this beofre? Can someone point me in the right direction? Did I give enough information?

Thanks in advance
Ed

Did you put ferrite beads on each cable every three feet in length?

Use quality cables?

Use short length cables?

Use balanced XLR/TRS connections?

Have 'Common Mode Current' in the shack when on the offending freq?

Just for starters . . .
