Howdy Freddy,
Welcome to the forum.

We don't think the TS-450 has the ability to change TX bandwidths.
It is stuck at 2.7kc on Transmit.

But with the Equipment you listed you should be able to get a very nice tone out of it.

Take Care,

I would be very hard-pressed to believe the FT-450 will allow for VooDoo type audio. Even it's big brother (FT-950) isn't capable of such a task. With the exception of the FT-2000 and 9000 (with their extended low frequency reaponse to 50Hz) it's not really going to happen with the '450. At 2.7Khz bandwidth you're audio will sound too "dark", muddy and lack "air" thus receiving reports of, "you're too bassy!!" assuming its capable of the lowend response.

Does the '450 have an audio monitor??--doubt it does at that price point, not to mention it's a mobile radio (which are usually designed NOT to have an built-in monitor). If that's the case a GOOD/RELIABLE secondary receiver is a must.

The TS-2000 will yield better ESSB results over the FT-450--you'll be quite pleased.
