FT-950 Audio?

Post by aseecobra »

Well, what can the 950 do on SSB TX & RX for bandwidth? And is it flat?

And did yaesu fix the horrible sounding AM receive fidelity?

Howdy Chris,

We have never had the 'pleasure' of playing with the FT-950 so our information is very limited.
Can anyone else shed some light on this subject?

I owned my FT-950 for about a month before I traded it for another '870. FT-950 has good audio, but not exactly in the ESSB realm--limited to 100Hz - 2.8K, Rx wasn't close to acceptable [for me] and the monitor sux sweaty bull balls... Funny thing...when I listen to the FT-2000 and the FT-950 on 20M in HRO. The '950 actually was quieter and the monitored station better heard than on the '2000 [which was pulling in more noise]...hence why i bought it at the time.

ROLMFAO!!

I would like to hear a real recording of a FT-2000 setup and used by an ESSB guru....--recorded on a 870, modded 850/100 or TS-950VMSDX...

Your so 'witty' Craig!
You crack US up!!!!

I've heard a few !kant, the trick is getting rid of that typical prominent 200-250cps Yeasu 'hump', after that they sound pretty good.

Take Care,

Okay. Just want to hear one--NOTE: I would buy a F3K before plunking down $2k for a '2000 and save $400...
