I now have audio rack into ACC socket on back of TS 870. Carried out C131 mod (Thanks for the info on this btw, copied your method exactly).
I realise mic gain is now not working or required, the monitor still works and audio sounds fab. But does the ALC metre still work? Is it still relevant?
It appears the output from the rack has to be very very low if the ALC meter is to accurately measure audio output?

The ALC will still work as it should, check your gain in the menu # 20. I find that 0 is best for S/N ratio but you will have to play with it for best results. The monitor is pretty close to whats going out over the air, but if your still not sure, get someone to record you that has a wide and flat enough receiver just to make sure. Going thru the back you will control your gain from the rack now, there will be spikes all the way across the ALC range because it is so dynamic but not to worry, that's a good thing.
