Low pass filter

I read some where that a low pass filter is not good when running HiFi rack gear, any thoghts?

You need to be much more specific. What kind of low pass filter? What is not good about it? Where exactly did you read this, and instead of a one-line summary, quote for us exactly what was said. Give us an example of what you're talking about. Until then, we're forced to speculate and that will just lead to a lot of unhelpful answers.
