Hi you all Audio Heads and VooDoo Gurus!

Ran across a PreSonus BlueTube DP Stereo Preamp and wondered if you've heard anyone use this?

Howdy JJ,

This seems to be another one of those "Starved Plate" units that do not have high voltage on the plates of the tube. Experience dictates that these kind of units are very limited in there performance, but we have never actually had a PreSonus BlueTube DP here to play around with so our opinions are pure conjecture.

Anyone else play around with one of these units?

Hi Dave,

I use the Electro Harmonix 12AY7 as well.
Upgraded both tubes to RCA's Command 5751 blackplates.
Works just fine. What tubes did you put in?

In the Preamp I use a pair of vintage Amperex Bugle Boy 12au7 driving a 12ay7, In my Mic V69 I use a vintage Siemens 12at7, all are extra low noise

Nice raplacement tubes Dave.
Was able to buy a second hand RP-520 yesterday, shipment is underway, will swap the 5751 Command tubes to that preamp and order some more opamps.

Sweet!!!
You will love that slight "Jazzy" coloration the RP520 adds to your voice. It really is a terrific Preamp for the money, especially for voice.

Take Care,
