Low-End-Fearin'??

Post by !KANT »

Over the years I've found it interesting (even borderline mind-boggling) that MOST SDR users don't play with much low end in their audio. Many roll off heavily between 150-100Hz. With the starved exception of operators such as, Jeff N8RWS (who sounds phenomenal), others seem as though it's cardinal sin to transmit below 100. Granted, it's very much pleasing to hear more and more SDR ops transmit at an average bandwidth of 4kHz. But what gives for the Low-End-Fearin'? Why restrict your audio from the true robust and full sounds to be had, that you KNOW you want. The argument, "no one listens below 100Hz" is utter nonsense, and we all know this. So again, what gives?!!
