Monitor on the TS870S

Post by JJ2013 »

Hi y'all AudioPhiles and VooDoo Gurus!

Here's a real "strange" question for you who are using or have used the Kenwood TS870.

When you listen to yourself using the Kenwood's Monitor, where do you plug in your headphones? The front jack or the jack on an external speaker for instance (provided that all the filters on the external speaker are switched off)?

Is the audio response in theory the same regardless of where you plug in your headphones, front jack or external speaker's phones jack (again, provided no filters on the external speaker are on)?

I have also plugged in my headphones into the jack on the DSP1124 EQ from Behringer when tweaking the EQ as that way I will hear what the audio sounds like before it gets fed into the other audio gear.

Would appreciate comments on this!

Cheers!

JJ

Again, I'm late to the party. :? But, I ONLY use the front audio jack for monitoring and recording. I can not recall any reports of sonic differences between the rear audio output jack and the front audio jack. If there is a difference, it's probably nominal.
