Let me ask you all which radio you prefer voodooed.? I know the ts-850s has the dsp 100. Do the icom 775dsp stand a chance to have a great sound like the ts-850s with the dsp-100? Which one would you choose? Thanks guys and happy voodooing!

Hm, I dunno, that's a tough one.

I see there are mods for the 775DSP to open the TX bandwidth up to 4.5Khz. That's pretty good, but the TS-850/DSP-100 combo will do about 6Khz, so it wins in that department. It also has an advantage on the RX side since the DSP-100 is used for both transmit and receive on the TS-850 and both can be just as wide. I don't think you can extend the RX bandwidth beyond 3Khz.

The TS-850/DSP-100 can also be used for hifi AM, either with the DSP-100 (using my patched TS-850 firmware) or without (using a direct input to the balanced modulator). I'm not sure what the capabilities of the 775DSP are on AM.

The IC-775DSP is a newer radio though and I think it may have a few more bells and whistles than the TS-850. It's also rated for 200 watts where the TS-850 is rated for 100. And it has a built-in power supply. And it is a nice looking radio.

As I see it, purely from a voodoo perspective, I think the TS-850/DSP-100 combo comes out on top. But from a general perspective, it might be a wash. Sadly I don't think I've ever heard a voodoo 775 on the air before.

There is no question the 850/100 combination will outshine the IC-775 in BOTH TX and RX. And the 850/100 will cost less. Heck, even a 870 will be a better choice IMO. 8)
