Pop Filters....

I finally decided to buy one [after 4 years of playing this SSB Audio game] For those people who still do not have one incorporated in their system [I know a lot  ].....what the hell are you waiting for??? Get one for your microphone now. "P" pops, heavy "H", searing "S", blow-by from laughter or heavy sudden bursts of breath [especially at close distance to the microphone] have been curbed. I almost purchased the VAC [dual] windscreen, but then opted for Raxxess. Either way I went I'm sure I would be satisfied [and so far I am]. I use a condenser here and after reading about moisure and the possible abuse and damage that can be incurred upon the diaphram of the microphone, I thought it be mandatory to have one. "P" popping just ain't kewl...

The POP Filter is a definite "Must Have".
We use them on EVERY Mic We operate with, even the RE-20.
The RE-20 has a hell of allot of pop filtering built in. It is probably the most "POP" resistant Microphone on the market, but it still benefits from using an external pop filter.
Using one also helps you to master the beast called "Mic Technique". You have to talk into it, thus it helps you from varying the distance from the Mic while you talk. It also helps you to "Talk" more normally, as now you don't have to worry about breath noise and "Popping".

We use the Poppless VAC made exclusively for the RE-20 shock mount. It works perfect with the PR-40 Mic as it makes you stay 3" from the Mic. This is the perfect distance for our voices with this Mic.

You are so correct. I noticed that I was varying my distance from the microphone and had to be aware of how pronounce I made my "P's". Even the taking nasal breaths can become excessive....but not anymore. And les not forget, it also gives your station a professional look.... 8)
