I wonder if this forum is still alive?
Do you guys think the IC 7300 is a girlyman TRX by design? I recently bought one and was surprised how serious it takes the TRX highpass at 100hz. A real showstopper. I didn´t sweep it yet but my EQ has a hard time pushing against it. Same shit on the lowpass.
Anyone got experience with that already?
Andy

Howdy Andy,
Sorry for the big delay, but we've had some issues happening here that has diverted our attention. Hopefully in his next year we will have a bigger presence here on the forum.
No experience here with the IC-7300. We tend to keep to the older designs without the evil, oppressive DSP circuitry.
Will be interested in the outcome of the sweeps.
Take Care,

I've yet to hear a '7300 properly "tweaked" for Mid-Fi SSB audio. For the record, it's not a terrible sounding transceiver (minus it's TXBW hurdle). Monitoring many of them over the air, I was pretty surprised when operators revealed they were using the stock hand mic. As always, in the proper hands of an eSSB audio enthusiast, I'm sure it can yield impressive results for what it is. [ICOM]

Today I had contact whit Trevor on 14Mhz and he was working with IC-7300 and I was amazing about the quality of his audio!
It did sound like he had complete outboard audio gear whit it.
But it was standard IC-7300 whit stock microphone
Also this week I heard a IC7610 amazing audio also.
If Icom makes update in de bandwidth whit more bandwidth I will consider to invest in a IC-7610
