Man, does that mean that the cap mod I did was all for nothing then : ((( ? In theory it would enable 40Hz to pass through....... Does this mean there is also no way to use EQ to get a really low frequency roll-off? Incidentally, quite a few people have told me that my condenser sounds like it produ...

Is this a utopian goal!?

Hi you all AudioPhiles and VooDoo Masters of the Universe! As a "reminder," I have done the cap mod and am feeding audio in through ACC2 and this does work for me well. Also, I am using "0" as the TX shift which is way better than using 100Hz on my Kenwood TS870. TS870s having been manufactured in d...

Hi Dave,

Just wondering what the difference in "real" life may be of using a Bugle Boy with either a long or short plate?" My guess is that it won't be considerable........

Cheers!

Anyone tried Rode NT1 or AKG C214?

Hi y'all! Obviously, this question may not make sense as we all have different natural speaking voices, radios, racks etc. However, I am contemplating (will NOT spend more than $300) getting a good condenser mic and am now looking at NT1 from Rode and AKG C214. I've read postings about MXL mics too ...

Howdy VooDoo Guru! I have a TS870 that I am feeding through the ACC2 (cap mod done). Presently the chain looks like this: Behringer B1 condenser mic (I use the PR40 too with different EQ settings) Behringer MIC2200 MDX2600 (left channel) for soft compression only at 2:1 DSP 1124P EQ EX3200 MDX2600 (...

Boy, "Starving" may be the word as I am looking at my MIC2200 and can hardly see any glow and to me it doesn't seem to really be a filament or plate either........Maybe I need better eye-glasses :?

Hi VooDoo Guru!

OK, I hear you......Pretty tough to tell I guess but trying all this gear can be pretty steep and it will put a big hole in my pocket !!

Cheers!

Hi Ozzie! Appreciate the response and I can tell you that the settings are different again :=) See below, Presets # 1 and #2 (#2 is more chew the fat kind with #1 having more of a punch). Settings when using the PR40 : #1 (I know some folks don't have any boosts below 2/2.5kHz except for the very lo...

Bellari

Hi y'all! I know this is probably a question that may not make a lot of sense as one would need to compare apples to apples....BUT, it would be cool to be able to take a listen to someone's audio (yes, the voice/audio, existing rack, TX bandwidth etc. are likely completely different from mine) when ...

Need true VoooooDoooooo advice on this one!!

Hi y'all (and certainly VooDoo Guru, please !), Like I wrote in a previous posting about "links in the audio chain," I am wondering how we should take what this studio recording pro wrote (see below the ***** signs)? VooDoo Guru wrote in Feb 2005 that EX3200 would probably need to go after the EQ so...

Hi! I am very intrigued by your posting and having heard you on the air makes me want to try this too 8) Nothing wrong with experimentation and who knows there might be a slew of discoveries for everyone along the way too. Granted, I am a relatively new kid on the eSSB block but in a way it may also...

Order of links in the audio chain

Hi y'all! OK, I've been reading postings on a ProAudio files web site and, granted, these guys are faced with a different set of challenges and they're NOT addressing this from an eSSB angle. However, I would be curious to get some of your thoughts on the correct order of links in the audio chain be...

Equipment with fake tubes in it!

Hi y'all, I would imagine that Bellaris RP520 etc. have REAL TUBES in them? It appears that a lot of gear advertise as being tube gear but the tube is sitting there only for decorative purposes, ie. the filaments may glow nice and bright but properties of tubes are really not exploited at all. They ...

Hi y'all Audiophile and VoooooDooooo Gurus! Hi,

Appreciate the feedback. As I wrote, I don't want to fork out the cash for a Bellari right now although from what I read it is the McCoy....
