Howdy wannavoodoo, Sorry we haven't responded sooner but were in the middle of moving and time is short for sure. You have hit upon all the suggestions that we would have suggested, especially with listening to the AM Signal with an off air monitor that can receive the bandwidth your transmitting. A...

Howdy Glenn, I noticed on your rack set up that you have channel 1 going to channel 2 on your Radius 70, is that correct ? Is this so you have twice as much frequency adjustment ? And do you use a balanced or unbalanced link cable ? Yes, Channel 1 Output is fed into the Channel 2 Input. This is done...

Howdy JJ, With the mic being as important as it is would then suggest that unless I am using a VooDoo modded TS950SDX or something "close" to its performance (SDR?...., yes, I know that is software and digital Wink ) and am transmitting wide then the benefits from using a great mic will be more or l...

Howdy JJ, It depends upon your devotion and how much of a purest you are. Above all things, the most important thing to have is a transmitter that has the most transparent and flattest frequency response you can get. You want to be able to transmit the audio as it is presented to it. On the other en...

Howdy Glenn.

The TL Audio 5013 is a terrific Valve Parametric EQ. It is the same thing as the HHB Radius 20. You will be very impressed with its performance.

The only thing you will miss will be the memories the DEQ2496 has, everything else in the audio realm is a drastic improvement.

Good Luck,

Howdy JJ, I read everywhere that TS870 has a very flat receiver even at 6 kHz wide. Although the RX and TX Bandpass of the TS-870 is very flat, a stock 870 is not perfectly flat. Kenwood added a little Low Frequency Cutoff on the TX Audio and a little Low Frequency boost on the RX Audio. This can be...

As always Bill gave a very correct and on the money post, Thanks Bill. He alluded to the main problem that you are having in that if you are listening with the STOCK TX Monitor in the SDX then that is the problem that your hearing with the bandwidth. The stock TX Monitor uses the Sub Receiver to rec...

As he said, a very simplified explanation, but very true.
To add to that, there are many many different applications and ways to use compression some of which were stated in the previous thread...

Howdy JJ, Well it all depends upon what you are after. Compression can be used in allot of different ways and in allot of different positions in the mix. It can be used for smoothing, tonal adjustments, sibilance, and many other types of dynamic control. This goes hand in hand on what type of EQ'ing...

It's not "fake", just a different way of using the tubes. They call what their doing with the tubes "Starved Plate". They are only running about 50V on the plates of the tubes. This does add a bit of tube warmth to the mix, but it's a far cry from actually using the tube to its full capability. Take...

Well, we no longer have any of the Berry stuff around for that type comparison. To us, the difference was enough to get rid of it. 8)

Howdy JJ, It all depends upon your voice and the frequency response of the mic as compared to how much EQ'ing you have to do after the fact. Less is definitely more in this respect. Short, you have to go thru a lot of mics to find the one that matches your voice the best. This way you don't have to ...

50KW Hit it on the head. There is a low end resonance from the RE20 that no other dynamic mic has. Not only does it have that smooth low to mid range lushness, it has a jenesequa that sets it apart from all the other dynamic mics I have used. The highs are very clean and natural on the RE20, whereas...
