RFI with Phantom Power: Bellari RP503
Howdy gents, long time since I've posted here... but I have an interesting one... I did the hacking of the circuit board to separate the Pin 1 from the circuit board ground when I picked it up back in 2008... I have noticed I'm getting RFI when using Phantom Power... I haven't disconnected the Mic c...

Re: SDR Dongle
Hey there! Got interested in learning how you hooked up everything using the SDR dongle to help visualize audio on transmit/receive? Sure would appreciate a brief on the set-up. Cheers, JJ I run the cheap SDR Dongle, costs like $10.29 on Amazon. HDSDR on an old Windows XP Netbook Don't plug the ant...

Arfter all these years...
My IC-718 is still trucking along at a whooping 3.3kHz... I've been playing around with my new toy... I picked up a $10 SDR Dongle from Amazon last week. Tonight, Using the Freeware HDSDR, I was able to try it out for one of the main reasons I bought it, to use it as a receiver/recorder to tweak my ...

EX-3200 Question
Its been a long time since I ESSB'd... Howdy Y'all, I am finally getting my setup setup again after 2 moves across the country. I got my rack fired up, an I've been re-tweaking my setups, but I noticed something with my EX-3200 (with the W5UDX tweak).. On Channel 2, the Meter is about 80% lit up... ...

I must say, it was a pleasure, and an honor, to live within 20 miles of W5UDX when I was down in Houston. No Band openings? we would chat on 10 meters nightly... Want to mess with the locals? We MIGHT have rolled down to 11 Meter LSB and had some fun... I miss being in Houston and the antenna setup ...

I appreciate all of your insights on this radio, Bow. I also saw your post on the WWRF too. Seems that the IC-718 can be a Mid-Fi contender, and you have proved it so. In the mean time, I have also acquired a Kenwood TS-2000 and a Flexradio SDR-1000. These is a lot of shuffling around the shack her...

Re: EX3200 or what?
Having read so much about the EX3200 here on the forum, it is no longer available by Behringer. Can someone point me in the direction of how to acquire myself one, preferrebly one with the VOOOODOOO Mod. Also, is there a replacement for the EX3200, and if so, how does it compares to the EX3200? EBA...

I've got a IC-718 as well. So, I am quite interested in what you have done - Bow. Quite possibly, I may be the second person to mod my 718 for a 3.1 wide SSB - if I can get some more details first! Q's: 1) So - you removed the stock filter and then turned on the fl-257 after you turned on the rig. ...

That is exactly what I am trying... I acquired a Behringer EQ700 EQ pedal (100hz to 6.4 khz in 7 bands) and I am waiting for my Compressor/limiter board to arrive... EQ700- http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/EQ700.aspx Compressor/Limiter: http://store.guitarfetish.com/cofrjatoinsu.html I guess I'l...

Minimum Equipment List?
What you you gents think is the minimum amount of equipment needed to get fuller audio? I'm not talking full blown Voodoo Audio, but something that sounds better than standard, DX quality SSB.. I am thinking an EQ and a Compressor. The reason I as? I'm trying to make a mini-setup to use mobile with ...

I would say great audio across radio bands should be encouraged I'm with you there. As for free-banding, as long as they stay out of 10 meters, I could care less... however, Voodoo Audio isn't good for working DX or cutting through a pileup... I run 11 meter AM in my truck, and I'll tell you, the 1...

Thanks for the reply and inputs Voodoo Guru! I'll work on the settings and such when I get a chance. My free time has been a bit limited since the XYL returned from her trip. I am going to use the second, currently unused channel of my DBX 266XL Compressor/Gate for the noise gate, when I get a chanc...

Thanks Mike. When I modified the mic, I was using it to record some Guitar work I was doing, and didn't think to record Voice... :| Sorry about that.... but the 12 String Acoustic has more frequencies and harmonics than my Voice can do! However, I ain't reversing the modification just for the ...
