Re: **********HELP WITH BELLARI rp583**************

Still haven't figured out a way to get rid of the hum. The transformers are already as far from the board as possible. Maybe someone out here has solved the problem in the mean time?

Re: Kenwood TS-990 / TS-890

Bought a TS890 couple of weeks ago, setting it up for audio via ACC2. The connection diagram is the same compared to the 870, still had that cable, but have to trouble shoot because I'm not getting any audio. Still have my 950SDX and planning to keep it. But very pleased with the 890 so far.

Thanks, Voodoo Guru. I will certainly try to cure this problem. Think the Panasonic FC caps will bring improvement. Will have to check how many and what Pf/voltage is needed.

Bellari RP562 hum

Encountered the following problem: when increasing the Bottom knob volume there is also an increase in hum. Problem could be that the transformers are to close to the mainboard. Someone here who cured that problem?

Hi KA5BBC, I can (partly) feel your pain. Was testing a new EQ and thought that the part for high frequencies wasn't working, as I increased the high notes I couldn't hear any change but the feedback in the headphones appeared/increased so the volume in the high frequency did work but my hearing (pr...

Hi Voodoonoobinky, Congrats on modding the 3200, wasn't easy, ruined one board over here :-( but got one operating at the moment. Strange that the link doesn't work, there were a couple of other links that gave an error message. I'm using the 882 over here as well, but haven't bothered to mod it. Ch...

Hi Guys, Downloaded Spectra Plus SC, a 30 day trial version, but has all the options available for that period. My PC has recently been updated with new PC board and Windows 10. Spectra Plus says: it can't find a soundcard (board has an internal SC) Do you need an extra soundcard (the website of the...

Hi Mike,

What program do you use to produce those graphs? (Maybe it is build in the software that goes with the Wavenode-2d.)

Not sure, but maybe this is the clip you are referring to:

You can listen to the result of adding some audio components, the 562 is also included in the audio chain.

Thanks for your input Ikant, will give Audicity a try, still haven't been able to fork out money for a decent software program. "Gathering" hardware for the hobby uses most of the funds :D Installed Audicity and the user interface looks very friendly. Will give it a try.

Answer from Bellari tech support:
In threory 230 volt could make the hum worse but, we don't have a lot of
experience with it so I can't be 100% sure about it. There is not really
much we can do to work around that channel 2 hum.

PS. Maybe the problem is bigger in Europe and therefore not solved by USA Rolls: in USA (sissy ;-) )voltage is 115 volts and in Europe (real man) voltage is 230 volts. I don't know how Bellari units are made suitable for EU voltage (no switch or anything to simply change the voltage on the unit) but...

Was searching the web for for a cure to this problem and ended up at WZ5Q, of course :D Got the same phenomena: light hum on channel 2 of the RP 583. Changed the tube, but no improvement. Switched to the second RP583 and same thing. So the service department from Bellari is probably right, channel 2...

Which software to record audio

Dear fellow ESSB enthousiasts, What software is best to record your own audio and the audio from other stations? At the moment I'm using FairStars Recorder, but maybe there is more user friendly software? I also want to record my own audio because I want to evaluate the sound. Is it best to use the ...

With the time it takes to make the cables it doesn't take a lot to add the bypass capacitors to the output then you know that your eliminating any possibilities' of that RFI just call me a perfectionist "maybe" I bought caps in the local electronics shop, but they only had 12 pcs in stock. Bought n...
