Hi Mike, thanks for the reply. If I switch the comp out I get good deflection on the meter, so It must have something to do with the compressor settings I'm using on the rp533.. Duke, NA1A gave me some settings to get me started: Threshold is at about 9 o'clock, ratio is at around 10 o'clock, attack...

The current setup is Heil PR20 Mic-2200 DSP-1124 EX3200 So I took the plunge and got me a bloody rp533...tried it after the eq..my thinking being that it would do double duty as a compressor/limiter and voodoo m...

Hey Ozman...never thought about that..I could set the audio chain up something like this 1. mic 2. preamp 3. dsp1124 4. rp533 as compressor/limiter and added harmonix 5. ex3200 for voodoosapian type sounds Im thinkin that might sound quite nice. The 533 would be in the appropriate place in the chain...

RP533 as a Compressor/Limiter?

Ok, I needs to get a compressor/limiter...I notice that the Bellari RP533 performs this function along with added voodoo powers... Was going to get the Bheringer mdx1600..is the Bellari a better bet for its added processing ability? I notice that Voodoo Guru is running the rp533 and another unit to ...

Your right about the low end dropping off..I believe that's mostly because I don't have a clue h...

Wow, good info, Mike. I have been corresponding with the "Ozman" and it turns out that our 870's are the same vintage..80 mill ser #'s, which I believe is 96 manufacture... Anyway, I'm still winging it with eq settings but I sent him a sound file that someone did of me on the air...he graphed it and...

Hey Ikant, thanks for the info. Well, I have to find someone who has the ability to tell me what I'm doing as far as bw. I was told on the air that I was only at a little less than 3 with the tx shift set to 0 (menu 29 or 30?). Since I've changed this to 100 maybe I am a little wider.. Thanks for th...

Hi, thanks for the response. Well, I am running an 80 mill ser# and it doesen't seem to be going over 3k, using the mic-2200 and dsp1124..I think its the second year production run, so it's old, not unlike its owner. I bought it hoping it would go out to 4.5k but mine doesen't appear to be...maybe i...

Hey you crazy kids, you; After coming to the conclusion that my audio was unfinished/missing something, I made the next move in my audio voyage. I got me a bloody ex-3200 - WOOHOO!!.. Hi Ikant, thanks for the advice. I did talk to a gentleman that was running a mkv mod'ed to rcv/tx out to 6k and he said it sounded good. This is after I changed menu setting 30 to 100 (from 0). I was thinking that setting menu 30 to zero would give me a little more bandwidth, but apparently it limi...

ts-870 bandwidth question?

Hey Gang, I'm at a loss...I finally got my behringer gear (mic 2200 preamp and dsp 1124) hooked into my ts-870. I talked to a gentleman that had a spectrum analyzer and he said I was only out to about 2.7k...said it fell off pretty hard at that point. He said the audio bears that out, it was lacking...

Which Rig?

Hey gang, newbie here...I guess I've been adversely affected by the sweet audio I've been hearing on the airwaves...I now have a ts450 which I will have to replace..The question is, which radio? I'm thinking the ts-870 is the appropriate choice, although I've always had a thing for the old ts-950sdx...
