OzMan- I am beside myself that I have been graced by your presence here on the forum! ~ ;) > aaaahhhh! A couple of questions,... - What are the settings on the DSP-1124P that you would suggest I try first, as you are the 870 guru on this forum? - I could 'ebay' the DEQ2496,... can I use the DEQ 2496...

OK, tnx Voodoo Guru. I DO have the audio being fed via the ACC2 rear end of the 870. I think I am experiencing the dreaded 'splat thing' you describe on the high end with the 870. I adjusted the EQ on the DEQ 2496 and rounded off some of the highs. Fairly difficult to achieve a nice balance and clar...

Adjusting da Highs
I was wondering if some of you that have the TS-870 could assist me with reducing the distortion I am hearing with my higher frequencies. The distortion is not all that bad but I can hear it thru the Sonys. I have adjusted the gain and volume controls a bit on the Bellari pre-amp and this did help s...

... da Voodoo cometh and my cup runneth over... Did the mod after ordering the Hex Freds from Farnell. The difference in the low end is truly amazing. I was very surprised. My only problem at this point is fiddling with the higher end. I still can hear some distortion in my 'SSS' and 'TTTs' . Any pa...

Hex Fred Replacement?,....HFA04TB60PBF-ND
Well, I received all the parts from Digikey to do the EX3200 mod EXCEPT for the HexFreds which were due on 7/10/10. I just received an email from Digikey stating that they were backlogged on the HexFreds for 8 wks and then changed it to 5/6/2011! My EX3200 is completely pulled apart and will be so f...

I think I would hold off on purchasing a EX3200 right now,... the HFA04TB60PBF-ND HexFreds seem to be very hard to find. The backorder dates for them are over a year (5/2011) was what I was quoted today. VooDoo Guru, can you recommend a substitute part or another value that would be acceptable to re...

Furman Mods
Scored a Furman RR from a hamfest this weekend,... gotta love Berryville. Anyway, what bulbs did you all use in your RR's to get the bling look? I tried some blue nite lights but the look is VERY subdued,... almost non-existent. Any suggestions or a decent LED mod I could do? Thanks for all the help...

Some good points here. I am curious as to what you mean by flat respone? This term seems to be used quite extensively on this website. Does it mean that a given mic adds a neutral sound quality across the entire human ear frequency spectrum?,... and also what we cannot hear? The EV RE-20 as compared...

Audio Rack Mount Ideas,...
Kind of a weird question,... I was looking thru all the VooDoo crew pics and saw several ideas of some mounts I wanted to try so as to hold my newly acquired gear. I liked the ones pictured in W5RLW, KC9MSI, YB5QZ, KD5HLW and N0PG. These mounts seems to be angled and fairly low profile as compared t...

Well,... I have some voodoo in the monitors now. There is 'tearing' when I announciate a word that starts with 'SSSS'. Sounds like some distortion and crackling. Could I adjust the DEQ 2496 to clean this up (the SSSS distortion) at all or is this inherent in the 870? Also,... if I place an Ultrafex ...

Thank you for the link to the wiring. A bit confusing though. I used pins 11 and 12 on the 870 and also switched to the PTT on the back too, using pins 8 & 9. The radio keys now but still no audio. Am I only to use these two pins for audio?... 11 being (+) mic and 12 being (-) mic,...where is the sh...

Maybe this will help you with what my wiring problem (no voodoo at dis time),... From output of iBox (5pin DIN)/solder side to connecting wire with 13pin DIN: pin 1 - + mic pin 4 - (-) mic pin 5 - n/c pin 3 - GND (shield of XLR) pin 2 - n/c I am running PTT through the front mic jack so there is no ...
